Troy, Idaho is located about 12 miles east of Moscow and has the feel of a quiet, friendly town. The population is about 862. Troy has a local convenience store a couple local restaurants and bars. The Filling Station is a local favorite for milkshakes and good eats. Troy is connected to Moscow by the Latah Trail, a paved rail trail near Highway 8 for bicyclists, roller bladers, and pedestrians. Public education is provided by the Troy School District.
